Q: Dodge Caliber?
Is there a big difference between a Dodge Caliber and a Pontiac Vibe? I can't decide between the two.
A: Yes these two are built on different platforms one is GM and the other Dodge. meaning they are totally different, I would look at the resale. I have to agree that the vibe needs a revamp on looks. The caliber has a lot of accessories that are unique.
I'd go for the Caliber.
Q: Does the Dodge Caliber have enough space for traveling with a baby?
We are going to be renting a car for a few days in June for a Wedding we are going to out of state and have found that we can rent a Dodge caliber for about the same as a mid-size sedan. We have been wanting to try out the new dodge Caliber (just for fun-won't be buying another vehicle for a few years), so thought this might be a good time to try it, but want to make sure we will have the cargo space we need. We will be traveling with our 14 month old, so will need to fit the stroller, pack n play and all of our luggage (for two adults and a baby for 3 days, so not too much) plus we will need to put her car seat in the back seat. Anyone know from experience if we will have enough room? I know it will be a tight fit even in a midsize, so we may need to go for a larger vehicle, but if we can fit it all in the Caliber at a lower price, we would be very happy!
A: The Caliber will fit all of you very comfortably. I have one right now and took 2 of my sisters and 2 of their friends on a trip and I was able fit everyone and everything in my car.
Q: How many is too many miles for an 07 dodge caliber?
How many is too many miles for an 07 dodge caliber?
A: anything over,30 thousand would be considered high mileage for the year of it,but i have seen some with a lot more than that on them, people are driving more than the national average these days,i wouldn't buy an 07 if it had over 40 thousand on it though, that would mean your not going to get as many good driving miles from it as one with less miles, the average is about 15 thousand a year,so you can figure it on this amount, good luck.
Q: Would Dodge Caliber be a safe bet car to take for a snowboarding trip?
I'm thinking about renting a car for the snowboarding trip. From what I have researched so far, Dodge Caliber seem like the best opition, value wise and safety wise to rent for the snowboarding trip since it's AWD and has some good quality of an SUV. Does it have snow tire capability? Since it's my first trip, I want to be safe as possible. If it isn't, can someone suggest another good car? Thanks!
A: how abt a Dodge Charger? or a Chevy Malibu
Q: How do you adjust the rear brakes on a Dodge Caliber?
I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber.
I have been told two different ways to adjust the rear brakes.
1. While driving in reverse pump the brake a few times.
2. Pump the emgerency brake.
Which one or both?
And how often should I do it?
Thanks a million!!!
A: should be disk brake is it not.. if its disk you dont have to adjust them but you might have to adjust parking brake.. if its old hub style you can adjust by backing up if everything is working the way it should many time it dont ...but there was a slot in the back of plate you used a brake adjustment tool since your car is 07 id say its disk brake all the way around and there wil be no adjustment to be made just pump. what you have been told work on old brakes shoe type not disk brake pads
Q: Anyone know of problems with the CVT being used in the Dodge Caliber?
Does anyone know of any problems or concerns with the Continuously Variable Transaxle being used in the Dodge Caliber (or in general)? I have heard they are very expensive if they need to be replaced. Any other problems or concerns? Or personal experience with them? My wife is looking at purchasing one, and we want know of any problems ahead of time if possible. Thanks.
A: CVT's have been around for a long time...and they are really very simple designs. I would not worry about longevity/durability problems anymore than I would about a Traditional Automatic transmission. Heck...most regular automatics die between 120-150,000miles and cost a bundle!
Is your wife sold on the Caliber? They are nifty looking as a replacement of the old Neon...However, from what I have seen the Fuel Mileage is not nearly as good as some other Compact Wagons on the market...I have been looking at the Ford Focus Wagon lately as a replacement for my aging 98 Escort Wagon and the Focus Wagon is rated at 37mpg highway...whereas the info I have read on the Caliber is upper 20s on the Highway...22-24 in town is all... Just 'Food For Thought' with gas hovering at $3.00/gallon with no end in sight... Caliber is neat looking though!
Q: Are jeep Cherokees, built onthe same platform as a Dodge Caliber?
My wife test drove a Jeep Compass and a Dodge caliber, and decided on the Caliber. (I drivea 94 Cherokee and was hoping to geta second Jeep.) I parked next to a Jeep Compass, and they seem to be the same car. A little Diferant Sheet metal, and Compass seems to have a bit higher suspension, but the roof, body lines, seats dash, width, all seem to be the same. Gonna be bummed out if I paid more money for a Caliber, when I could have gotten the same car with 4 wheel drive, and a better engine.
I love my Cherokee, its what God would drive if needed a Car. Just have a soft spot for anything Jeep. Even the new ugly ones. and thanks, I'm goin to have to havea long discussion with my wife. Thanks guys
Sorry about the typo. I just noticed, The question should be; Are the Dodge Caliber and the Jeep Compass the same platform.
A: your cherokee is built like a jeep, solid front and rear suspension, were the caliber and compass have independent front and rear, so they are more like a car when it comes to ride and handling. your jeep is a real jeep, the compass is not, you would never want to go off roading with a compass. and yes, the caliber and compass have the same plateform, so in a way, there the same car. just different sheet metal like you said.
Q: How do you program a car remote for a 2007 Dodge Caliber?

Correction..

Correction..

Q: I am looking at buying a Dodge Caliber, is it Family Friendly for a family with twins?
I was looking at the Dodge caliber for a new vehicle for my new family. I might be having twins and was wondering if it was a good idea to get this vehicle of I do have twins.
A: this is a supurb car. the rear seat concave making what seems to be a small back seat much roomier than it feels. pluss the hatch back style in great for stoage on all your twins bring along things. One of the most reliable vehicles on the market today. I love mine. I looked at toyota, honda, kia, chevy, and the best value for the money and safty was my caliber.
Q: Has anybody heard anything bad about the Dodge Caliber?
I have a Dodge truck that I love, but I will deploy to Iraq and my wife needs a car (she likes to hit things with my truck). I was thinking about the Caliber because I was impressed with the workmanship on my truck, and the lifetime powertrain warranty looks good, but I want to know if anyone has heard anything bad about the car?
A: there's a lot of things that is going wrong with the calibers right now enough that i would stay away from one, their not as dependable as they should be,the warranty is good, and if you buy one you,ll probably be using it a lot, good luck.
Q: Should I buy a Dodge Caliber with my financial status?
I'm considering buying a dodge caliber sxt. I now own a 1996 ford ranger with 136,000 miles and I have a feeling it's going to die on me. If i buy the Caliber, it means I will have $200 extra to spend freely each month rather than $700. Is the car really worth the money? Am I just in "impulse buy mode"? What should I do?
A: You have the best auto in town, a paid for one! Keep it until you can get a better one for cash! Car payments are always more expensive than repairs, in the long run.
Q: How does a Dodge Caliber compare against a Toyota Corolla? Space and safety.?
Dodge Caliber is supposedly a Small Crossover vehicle, and it looks like a really small SUV, but I wonder if it really is any more spacious than a Toyota Corolla. Is it safer (accident wise). Maybe Ford Escape is better... I'm looking for a medium family vehicle that is not a van and it's about the same price as a Toyota Corolla. Comments please.
A: I would pick the CAliber. It has the highest possible saftey ratings, and the Corolla was on Forbes list of least-safe vehicles with a rating of "poor" by NHSTA. Check out this link, it has tons of reasons of why not to buy a Toyota. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AplK5J9OWzsD9VzZlSOIXg7sy6IX?qid=20070301210328AAn8E5d
Q: Is there anyway to reprogram or replace the CVT transmission in a 2007 Dodge Caliber.?
07 Dodge Caliber 2.0 engine
I can't stand the lack of power and acceleration. Really want to be able to mash the gas and have to car move!!
A: reprogram, sure. i had it done on the wifes 07.
replace, if you have enough $ why not. i know that the 1.8 and 2.4 have a manual trans option, 2.0 unsure. what specifically is the concern. we have had ZERO issues with our car, and none in our service department too.
Q: How do you like your Dodge Caliber?
I'm thinking about buying a 2007 dodge caliber SXT. What are the pros and cons of this vehicle?
Is it worth the $15000?
A: I think this car is a great value! It caught my eye first, at the Toronto Intl. Autoshow, and a few monthslater I took it for a test drive. It honestly is one of the best cars I have ever driven. It handles great, and I like how it is elevated off the road, it makes you feel a bit more at ease driving, especially on the highway. The seats are really comfortable, and there is tons of room. The ONLY problem I had with it, was I went to look at it a second time, and my kids (who are about 10, and kind of tall) said that the back seat did not have enough legroon, and that the rear seats are a bit stiff. but, i don't kno if you even use the rear seats for anything, because if you don't, they fold flat for a TON of storage.
Q: Will a Neon or PT Cruiser oil cap fit onto a Dodge Caliber motor?
Im shopping around for custom oil caps, and I own a Caliber, but the oil cap I want comes for Dodge Neon and PT Cruiser, both are which were made by Chrysler (dodge) The Caliber which actually replaced th Neon is a similar car, so is the Cruiser. The engine I have is a 2.0L 4cylinder. Thanks :)
A: I'm not sure they would ,but i would try it,since most of the parts for those are interchangeable now ,id try it,pt cruiser and the dodge status are about the same on engine parts, and some of the neon's parts also interchange,on something like that id try it,good luck with it.
