Q: 2006 Dodge Caliber Won't Shift into Gear?
My 2006 Dodge Caliber will turn on, but will not shift into gear, even when the brake pedal is pressed. The brake lights also do not come on when the brake pedal is pressed. This happened once before, but it only lasted about 10 minutes before it worked again. I don't know if it is electrical or mechanical.
A: if it wont go in to gear at all this time check in the fuse panel for the fuse parked brake lights and see if that it isn't blown, that's what helps release it from park,if that's not it then you probably have a bad switch on it,since this one is probably still covered by warranty id get the dealer to repair it free, believe me you,ll miss that warranty when its gone, use it while you can,but id have them check it any way it shouldn't keep doing this, good luck.
Q: Anyone have a 2006 or 2007 Dodge Caliber?
I am looking into getting one. Can you tell me what dislikes and likes you have about it and if you would recommend them to your friends?....thanks :)
A: go rent one and see if you like it,,before you buy one
Q: Personal pro/cons of dodge caliber?
Does anyone have any super awesome pros or really bad cons of the dodge caliber? we bought a 2006 pontiac G6, but we have two dobermans and i'm really wanting more rear room than a trunk. (can't exactly stick pets back there, plus we only had one dog when we bought it) i love my car but i need to get with reality!
edit: any other vehicals of the same "look" that would be highly reccomended? (fuel economy is more important than not)
A: Lows: Noise, visibility, mediocre fuel economy, fit and finish, reliability.
The engine is noisy, and interior fit and finish is subpar. The ride is sound but unexceptional, and handling is lackluster. The continuously variable transmission works well, but both the 2.0-liter SXT and 2.4-liter AWD R/T we tested lacked punch, and fuel economy wasn't impressive. A high-performance 285-hp SRT4 is new. Reliability of the front-wheel-drive model is above average, while that of the all-wheel-drive one is well below average.
(consumer reports) score 51 out of 100.

Q: Which of these cars would be good for a first driver? Which one would have the cheapest insurance?
1. 2005 Ford Five Hundred
2. 2000-2005 Jeep Wrangler
3. 2000-2005 Honda Accord
4. 2007 Dodge Caliber
5. 2004-2006 Mazda 3
6. 2006-2007 Volkswagon Jetta
Please Help!!!!
A: Out of that list I would get number 5, the mazda 3. Insurance is up to you and where you live, that factors into the price.
Q: What safety features do you like or not about 2006/7 Mazda new cars? (esp. if you've had an accident w/one)?
I'm looking to buy a new Mazda 3, 6 or the new CX-7. I want to save money, and was going for the 3 since I liked the test drive so much but was worried once I saw the poor side impact ratings at safercar.gov of the Mazda3. The CX-7 is the safest of the bunch w/ 5-star front and side ratings & the Mazda 6 lis somewhere in between safety of the 3 and CX-7..
I am interested to know if you think the extra safety is significant enough to warrant the price differences in these models. The only other car I was considering was the Dodge Caliber which has great safety ratings but the 2.4L is not avail where I am so I won't go with that.
Any help or thoughts, particularly with real-world experiences of you or someone you know with accidents and a Mazda 3 or 6 would be helpful to know. (and btw if you have had an accident - I hope you are ok!!) thanks!!
A: first thing
go to iihs.org (or .gov , im not too sure)
check the ratings
2nd
i am a previous mazda owner
i had a mazda protege ( the car that the 3 replaced) and didn't like it too much
