Q: my 2007 dodge caliber was totaled in a wreck (my fault) and i want to get it fixed; can i?
my 2007 dodge caliber was totaled in a wreck and i'm having a hard time getting a new car. my insurance company says that it was a total loss and it can't be fixed. i'm also still having to pay for the car after the insurance company paid their part because i didn't have GAP insurance. can i do anything? am i crazy for thinking that it can be fixed? what to do. somebody please give me some advice.
A: Mike,
Sorry you had such a nasty accident. Ugh!
Unfortunately, that is the way insurance works. They will only pay the actual value of a car when it is considered a total loss (costs more to fix than it is actually worth).
Although you still owe the balance of your loan, the insurance company may be required to find you a replacement vehicle of equal or like value, depending on your policy. It is worth checking into. http://www.auto-insurance-helper.com/total-loss.html
Also, you can usually keep your car and try to get it fixed yourself, but you will have to take less of a settlement from the insurance company. Before agreeing to this, I would get a couple of estimates for repair on your own, so you can determine if this will really be worth your while.
Sometimes, when I car has been in a serious accident and is then repaired, you continue to have troubles down the road with that vehicle. Not always, but quite often.
Hope something works out for you.
Q: Aftermarket headlights for 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT?
Are there any good aftermarket headlights available for the 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT? Know any good places to buy from?
A: i seen a few on this site right here a while back, you might find some on it they keep up with the custom parts real good ,good luck http://www.partstrain.com/
Q: I RENTED A 2007 DODGE CALIBER and am thinking of buying one.Would you recommend it?
I have a Saturn SL2 now.I've been thinking of selling it for a while now, but couldn't pin down a practical, gas-saver, people- mover, and nimble car that's good in the snow. Do you think it's a good choice to get a Caliber?
A: i personally have a dodge caliber SXT. It's a great car to drive. for a compact car it's almost like an SUV. once you sit in the drivers seat you will first notice that it sits up higher than regular cars which gives you a better view on the road. The gas is excellent. I drive on the highway everyday and get about 500 to 600 km depending on how you drive of course on a full tank on a highway going 110km. For space is excellent too. Sit in the back feels like an SUV. theres amazing leg room in the bag you can stretch your feet. head room of course is phenominal. being a hatch back of course your space is going to be limited when it comes to luggage but the great thing is the back seats fold down! sound system is great comes with all sorts of features just check them out. there different depening on what kind of caliber you get. the car handles great. looks like an SUV but drives like a car just to sum things up.
Q: I was just wondering what the highest achieved speed was in 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT stock?
I just want to drive fast. Just wondering what i could get to in my car. I'd like to think 115. Any ideas?
A: As soon as I find an open stretch of road, I'll let you know.
Q: Does a bumper to bumper warranty cover a new back bumper on a 2007 Dodge Caliber? If not how much does it cost
I hit a fire hydrant. If I get it done at a private shop will it void the warranty?
A: it wont void the warranty on it ,because power train warranty doesn't cover the bumpers on it,that's considered body damage, your insurance company will cover this though,if you go through a private source for this it will be expensive, here's a site for the bumpers on some dodges, that might help you, good luck, you,ll still have to pay labor strait out of your pocket though unless you turn it in,http://www.autopartsway.com/autoparts/ymks.cfm?VehicleSearch=DG

A: REMOVAL

3. Remove nuts . Possibly 2 or 3
4. Remove mirror from door .
Try this and see if this helps.
Q: 2007 dodge caliber wont go into gear any suggestions to what might be wrong? car does start and drives?
i have to hit the override switch to get it unlocked, it does drive, no warning lights come on
A: I think you may have to take it to a mechanic. More than likely your shifter has a defective part within it somewhere. I know this isnt a lot of help but I just figured I would try to help you out.
Q: What is the used car retail value of a 2007 Dodge Caliber sxt?
It has 24000 miles on it?
I tried Kelly Blue Book. I went through everything I could think of and it won't show a Dodge Caliber as used.
A: Kelly Blue Book is ok but banks no longer use it anymore because you can practically get an extra 500 dollars cause your car has a CD player...Most banks use http://www.nada.com I use to be a dealership loan specialist and thats what my company and our banks used. I did a basic check out on the Caliber and if it's just basic Clean trade in your looking @ 13,050 for Retail 15,475 thats just without me know what features it has or if it's stick or auto...but check it out
Q: has anyone expereinced any transmission shifting probelms with the 2007 dodge caliber?
the car seems to be running normal when it suddenly 1)will not shift or 2) just shuts down completly
A: well with a CVT trans there is no actual shifting. so saying that the trans doesnt shift is dead on accurate. the stalling may be trans related or even a simple engine management issue. no probs with my 07 sxt. i say swing by the dealership for a check out to be safe. i dont recall any service messages or TSBs concerning stalling.
Q: 2007 Dodge Caliber periodically cranks sluggishly?
I purchased this vehicle 2 months ago and have had no problems until the past week when twice the car has cranked very sluggishly and felt like it would not crank at all. Both times were in the morning, and both mornings the temp was in the 50s or 60s. No warning lights are on and otherwise the car seems to run well. I'm taking it to the dealership since it's still under warranty but just wondering if anyone has any ideas about what could be going on. Thank you.
A: take it back to the dealer, its new,you don't need to be working on it as long as you have the warranty use it,you,ll pay enough for repairs when the warranty is gone, the dealer will take care of this at no charge to you,you may have a battery a little weak in it,even new ones can go bad, good luck.
Q: I have a 2007 dodge caliber...Water has ended up in my back driver's side floor! How?
It was like someone poured a huge bottle of water in the back floor...nowhere else just the driver's back floor.
A: several of those have had that problem,if its got rear air the drain has came off and let the condensation from the air unit run down in to the floor, its still under warranty ,if you take it back to the dealer they will repair it free of charge, that's what i recommend to all people who have the warranty use it while you can, because when its gone you,ll be paying for all these little repairs, that's not a hard problem to straiten out though, there's a drain tube that just sticks on the unit and it will come off and cause this too happen, good luck.
Q: What is the difference between the 2007 Dodge Caliber and the 2008 Dodge caliber ? which one would be better ?
A: I would go with the '08 model. Usually first year cars have minor problems (sensors fail, fuses blow, etc., nothing big) and in the second year run a lot of these things get fixed so you don't have to worry about them. Now yes this may not always be true because car manufacturer's do have major recalls in the middle year runs of cars, but your chances are better at buying a car that is in its second year run.
Example: Dodge came out in 2003 with the Dodge Neon SRT-4. In '03 this car was awesome, but little fixes were needed. For the 2004 model Dodge added a much needed limited slip differential (LSD) and I think the '04's PCV was exchanged for a better unit. This is what I mean by little fixes to make the following year's model car better. The LSD was a big one for the SRT-4, but little things like the PCV are less evident to most buyers.
On another note with the '08 Caliber you have the option of going with the '08 Caliber SRT-4. Hard to argue with the sweet aggressive styling and a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cyl that puts out 265HP and still will get good gas mileage. I'm excited about it.
Q: 2007 Dodge Caliber Blown Head?
In May 2006, I purchased a 2007 Dodge Caliber and it has 37,000 miles on it. It was making some loud rattling noise in the engine and took it to the mechanic, he told me I had blown the head. I was just wondering if anyone out there has had the same problem with their new car? My dad said he's heard of Caliber's engines breaking. . .
A: well head gaskets will wear out and go out they just gasket that needs to be replaced, cars revved high alot can caused this
Q: Help with Interior Dash lights on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
We just brought home a new Caliber today- and when driving it last night realized that there was no light behind the speedometer-- making it virtually impossible to see how fast we were going. We have tried the dimmer switch over and over and to no avail. The dimmer seems to adjust the clock/stereo lights and the digital odometer and temperature gauge. But the three white instrument panels don't light up. Is this just a fuse issue?
A: the dimmer switch works mine
Q: i have a 2007 Dodge Caliber tire size 205/70R15.What is the biggest size I can put on without rubbing?
