Q: i need to know the original body paint color of my 1971 dodge challenger with vin number JS23H1B367129?
the data plate on my 1971 dodge challenger witrh vin number JS23H1B367129 was lost and i need to know the original body paint color and interior colors.
A: Sorry. You are going to need the fender tag or data plate for the paint and interior colors. You may be able to remove one of the door panels and see if there is some over spray of the original color somewhere. You need to look in places where the factory paint may still be present. The vin# will not give you the paint code or interior colors. You vin# decodes as: 1971 Challenger R/T, 3 door hard top, 340 4bbl 275 hp, Dodge main, Hamtrack, MI Good luck!!!
Q: What would win a 1/4 mile race: A 1971 Dodge Challenger with 426 Hemi or a suped up 4-banger?
I am a huge muscle car fan, especially for Mopar. Like in the movie: 2 Fast, 2 Furious, but in real life, what would win a 1/4 mile drag race: a 1971 Dodge Challenger with a 426-Hemi (and all the options available as stock or just "slightly" modified to make it fast)......or a plastic 4-banger that so many kids drive around????? In reality, muscle cars are made fast straight from the factory, the little cars kids drive they have to add so much crap to it to be considered fast, like nitrous. So who wins: Hemi or 4-Banger???
Also, who agrees that the sound of the Flowmaster dual exhaust coming from such a big engine makes the hair on peoples neck quiver??? I just don't like the sound of a little 4-cylinger revving up. Sounds like a go-cart or R.C. car. Not very masculine. But that's just my opinion...............Now I'd go with the 4-bangers for style and cool designs, such as stereos and custom interiors, but for pure power and muscle, I just like the feel of American Muscle.
A: Well, the Hemi puts out about 425 hp at the wheels, and about 500-515 at the crank, so it has to be a REALLY souped up 4 banger to beat it. My cousin has a Neon SRT-4 thats pushing 725 hp, so there are some 4 bangers that will beat it.......if they're really souped up!
Q: Who or what company sales 1971 dodge challenger r/t quarter panel louvers?
A: year one
Q: Who owns a 1971 Dodge Challenger? What color is it?
A: metallic red
Q: Dodge Challenger 1971?
I use to own a1971 Dodge Challenger. I loved this car.In 1972 this car was setting on car lot in a small town where we lived at the time.We went into the dealership to see about buying a new car for me, The salesman asked me if I would like to see the Challenger, it was a year old and they could not sell it. When we went out to see it, we could see why. The Challenger was purple, dark purple, with the top white. The color was called Plum Purple. This was a new color for cars in the 70's. No one wanted it because of the color. The dealer gave me a good price on it if I bought it. So I did, I Kept that car until some one stoled it out of our driveway one weekend while we were gone., This was in 1988. I want another Challenger in good condition , know where I might find one?
A: check this web site out,you may find one on it,i sold both of mine last year on this site, its a good place to find one,it may not be perfect though, both of mine needed work ,good luck,,http://www.oldride.com/ http://classiccar.com/
Q: Where do I find the engine number '71 Challenger?
I have a 1971 Dodge Challenger 440. I'm pretty sure the engine is not the original for the car and wondered where on the block (or which component) is the number to identify the engine. (not the engine number on the fender tag etc)
A: Dodge man does a good job here
2 other things to look for - the car VIN number will be stamped on the right side of the engine on a rail - see picture
http://www.mymopar.com/enginecastnumb.htm
This can be faked so you also need to look for the actual build date of the engine to make sure it predates the build date of the car.
Q: A 426 HEMI into a 67 GT500?
I am not planning to do this, so dont tell me its stupid or anything like that, but could you fit a 426 HEMI (The one in the 1971 Dodge Challenger) into a 1967 Shelby GT500?
A: i have never tried this nor do i know anyone who has,but going by the measurements on it id doubt this could be done, because the hemi is a real wide block engine and the mustang has the shock towers that cant be disturbed, other wise you,d be doing a lot of cutting and welding on it,nothing is impossible to do these days, but if it could be done it would require a lot of cutting and welding,we put 390 in a mustang with not very many problems but ford engines aren't as wide as the hemi is,good luck.
Q: Need for Speed: Pro Street question?
ok, im using a 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T as my drag car. I'm running late 7s in a quarter, but there is a problem...sometimes, the car loses control for no good reason, and i cant find out why. Why is my car doing this, and how can i fix it?
A: drop the tier 4 or even 3 suspension for a tier 2.
I gave up on the challenger as it is too unruly, and went with the supra, now Im running 5s
good luck!

I already own a 1971 dodge challenger and a 1970 superbee, and I always wanted a cuda.
Do you think I should try bidding on it?
A: I'd Give It A Lot Of Thought At That Price If You Haven't Seen It Up Front & Personal~
Q: which car would be better ....(mopar)?
1972 dodge charger SE with a 400
OR
1971-1974 dodge challenger with a 318
and why??
and also which one would be faster overall?
A: Neither is better. Each has its advantages. By faster do you mean top speed? Or by faster do you mean getting from 0-60 in less time, more correctly defind as quicker. The 318 challenger is quicker up to a point. The 400 Charger is faster due to better aerodynamics. And yes DEON thay made many 400 Chargers. Few cars are both quick AND fast. The ones that are usually cost a few hundred thousand, and generally weren't made in America, at least until the Dodge Viper and the C6 corvette Z06. My 1999 Neon ACR will embarss my 1973 Ferrari 365 gt4 2+2 from a standing start up to about 80 mph, but from 80 mph on up to 150 Mph the Ferrari is the hands down winner. (The Neon maxes out at 130 MPH and takes much longer to get from 80 to 150 than the Ferrari) Both are a blast to drive but for very different reasons.
Q: anyone like the old movie Vanishing Point (1971)?
Kowalski, the hero of the story, works for a car delivery service. He takes delivery of a 1970 Dodge Challenger to take from Colorado to Frisco, California. Shortly after pickup, he takes a bet to get the car there in less than 15 hours. After a few run-ins with motorcycle cops and highway patrol they start a chase to bring him into custody. Along the way, Kowalski is guided by Supersoul - a blind DJ with a police radio scanner. Throw in lots of chase scenes, gay hitchhikers, a naked woman riding a motorbike, lots of Mopar and you've got a great cult hit from the early 70's
Barry Newman .... Kowalski
Cleavon Little .... Super Soul
Dean Jagger .... Prospector and snake catcher
Victoria Medlin .... Vera Thornton

John Amos - Soul's engineer
Rita Coolidge - Singer in the Gospel band
David Gates - Piano Player at the Revival (for all you Bread fans)
