I need instrutions on the basic assembly of a 68' Charger, even online downloads of model instructions will work. Also been looking for parts for the car, I have nothing, all answers appreciated.
A: Scale model instructions will not help you. Consult a local auto body repair shop or surf eBay for a hard copy or a CD ROM. Just type in the car info and search what they have. Hemmings Motor News is also a good source. They also have a web site to search print ads. You can subscribe to he print copy. Try also Year One Inc, in Georgia. They too have a web site. Try to search for Mopar Restoration business on the web.
Q: I have a 1968 Dodge Charger with power windows. Where can can i find parts to make my windows work like new?
Id like to find updated window motors and parts to fix the window mechanisms. They roll up and down really slow and weak. The plastic rollers sometimes seem to fall out of track. Someone help me. I still have scars on my hands from high school from workin on these things,,and im 25 now.

Q: 1968 Dodge Charger Timing?
What is the timing supposed to be on a 1968 Dodge Charger 318 2 barrel.It also has points distribuator.
Also does the vaccum hose have to be undone when timing?
A: I do not have the actual spec on the timing, but as I remember the timing on the older mopars was very low. 2 degrees sounds about right. Yes the vac. hose must be disconnected. Remember, changing the point gap or dwell will change the timing, so set the points first then recheck the timing.

Q: Need to decode a 1968 Dodge Charger fender tag?
Is there any websites that REALLY decode the fender tag? I am not having any luck finding any a good website. I am not looking for VIN info, just fender tag.

A: Deb, here is a free site to decode both the VIN & Fender Tag of your '68 Charger.

This link starts off with the VIN before going into the fender tag decoder, so have it handy to type in. Also, you can download a program to your PC from this site to decode the tag. I've used it several times when looking at vehicles on eBay to see how they were actually equipped from the factory.
