Q: Which is better a 1969 Dodge Charger or 1969 Mustang?
Judgeing on horsepower, engine and looks which would you rather have? Don't take into account that the Charger cost alot more these days.

A: I think by far it is the Charger, just look at the body lines the best looking muscle car of the late 60/s. The engines made lots of power and are just designed better than the Fords. The Charger has i bet more people look at it at a stoplight than a Mustang will ever have.

Q: I'm buying a 1969 Dodge Charger. Are there any recommended parts to put in it to make it worth while?
I love the way the 1969 Dodge Charger from the newest Dukes of Hazzard movie sounds when it runs. I love the way it looks all together. I'd like to know what kind of parts might make it sound/run/look like that and I would like to know about how much it would cost.

Q: 1969 dodge charger nos install?
just bought a sniper kit and planning on running a 100 shot on my 383 magnum. if i splice in to the stock mechanical fuel pump line will there be enough flow or will i need to upgrade?

A: I would definitely run an electric pump and think about increasing the size of the fuel line from the tank forward. Even with a small shot of NOS, I have seen many dollars in damage done from not enough fuel/ too much NOS.

Q: I have been looking for the entire front grill asembly for my 1969 dodge charger. i cant find one?

A: Go to Hemmings Motor News. You may also try to locate the Dodge Boys through the Hemmings website.

Q: 1969 dodge charger homemade coldair intake?
I'm wondering if replacing the stock filter assembly on my 383 with a length of sealed tubing that fits over the carburetor and running it to the front of my charger to inhale all that cold air (with high flow filter) instead of sucking all that heat from under the hood would be worth it? dont post unless you actually know what your talking about please, this is a v8 big block so no ricers with 4-cylinders and a c.a.i should respond about the benefits they experienced.

A: Go for it, if you can do it yourself! Mopars love to breathe, "in" and "out". I suggest you do it in such a way that it can be easily removed at a later time so the value of your Charger isn't diminished. I remember Oldsmobile did the same thing in the early '70's on their Cutlass S model with the W-31 (I think it was the 31, maybe the 30) engine. They actually had two scoops under the front bumper that picked up air, which was then ducted to the air cleaner housing which had the usual paper element inside. I don't remember Olds ever claiming an increase in power, but I remember reading in an auto magazine that you could feel it in the "seat-of-the-pants" test. I only saw one locally and it disappeared before I could see how it was plumbed under hood. Good luck with the project.

Q: 1969 Dodge Charger, How much does one cost today?
Either a fully reconditioned model/Second hand or even all the bit to build.

A: What a Dodge Charger?? Is that American

Q: Since Chrysler is showing footage of the 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger?
becoming the first car in nascar to do a 200 mph plus lap.How many would think it cool if they scrapped the 4 door version they have now and built a real charger with a v8 that looked similiar to the Daytona of 1969 with 2 doors ? They could lower the fin in the back or make it similiar to nascars car of tommorows look.I think a cross between the 1969 and the 80's Daytona could be pretty cool and the aerodynamics would be awesum. Also by mentioning the 80's Daytona I don't mean to imply a 4 cylinder.V8's only with a 5.7 base for an affordable entry level then the sky is the limit on horsepower a 600 hp viper engine offer for the top model would be cool with maybe an even more hp hennessay option available from dealers. Ps maybe you are an import fan? What you don't understand is that car manufacturing goes in cycles certain car companies are on top today and then struggling tommorow.Japanese quality is at an all time low also you might forget prior to the war on terror the American companies were making a very strong comeback. With the war came extremely high fuel prices giving the japanese an advantage because of their rumored fuel efficiency advantage. If you go to http://www.mycarstats.com/auto_recalls/auto_recalls.asp you will find honda has the worst recall record of any active manufacturer or division. The accord has had 184 recalls since 1990 and the civic has had 160 they are the 2 worst cars.It would seem their fuel efficiency may have more to do with fuel saved from being towed or time not driven from having recall work done.Chrysler by itself builds more different models than toyota, honda, and nissan combined.I'd like to see any one of the japanese companys try to accomplish that and do well Howlin wolf the footage is from march 24,1970 at talladega and the driver is Buddy Baker on that day he became the first nascar driver to break 200 mph.Chewy I like your answers but please quit downing the coronet 2 of my very favorite cars I have owned were both coronets one a 66 2 door and the other a 69 2 door. The charger came from the coronet and the coronet has been around a long time. One could even make the argument the coronet is the first muscle car using the same type thinking meat heads use to call the gto the first one.Checkout the 1955 d500 coronet also look at the coronet rt's and the superbee's and even the plain old coronet 440's.You have stated an affection for the GTX that is nothing more than a plymouth version of the coronet just like the belvedere is keep up the good answers but leave my coronet a lone.

A: that would be sweet. sign me up!!!

Q: what size jets 1969 dodge charger?
i have a 1969 dodge charger with a 727 tf. it has a 600cfm holley 4 barrel and it might have a purple cam but i'm not sure. what size jetting should i have on it for the summer. it has 64's on it right now. it has a 383 magnum it has a 383 magnum

A: It really depends on what lift/duration cam you have, what type of pistons you have, I.E. flat top or Pop tops. It also depends on what you are looking for, performance or gas mileage wise. You might want to also get away from holley and go with a better performer like Quadrajet. That is what the car originally came with and the front 2 barrels are small, usually 30's to 40's and the secondaries are big, usually 50's to 70's depending on the size. I have a '69 GTO Judge, and it has a 455 ram air 4 with 480 hp and 460 lbs of ft torque. I have a Quadrajet on it and I get 15 mpg just regular driving, and about 4 mpg if I put my foot in it. But when I open up the secondaries, I can burn rubber at 55 mph. Your local auto parts store can match up your engine size, cam size and recommend a carb size/jet size.

Q: how much is a 1969 dodge charger?
okay my dream car is a 1969 dodge charger but could some one tell me how much i should expext to pay for one? in running condition ill get one and rebuild it but it has to be able to drive me around while i make money to fix it up idc how it looks oh and when i restore it its ganna look like the general lee:) oh and i know gas milage is ganna suck so im thinking of putting a v-6 hemi in it better gas but still fast

A: it's hard to say how much you can get one for, depends on what area you live in, what condition it's in, what options it has, if you're lucky..muscle car prices have skyrocketed, especially ones that are original. a good general idea can be gotten by getting an "old car price guide", or sneaking a peak at a local book store. they will show you the average value of the car in 5 different conditions, from parts car to perfect. this is just a guide and prices vary from place to place, etc, but it's a good starting point. i wouldn't be surprised if in perfect condition that car would be worth $38,000 and in junk it would brobably still be in the $2,000 range. if you find a $2,000 car, you will pay $25,000 or more to restore the body, and the mechanics and interior will run you pretty good too. it's a rich man's game anymore. you can buy a finished one for less money than it will cost you to redo it, unless you are doing the work yourself. oh yeah, if someone is doingthe work you won't be driving it, and by time it's completely finished you will be talking at least a year.
