Q: Dodge Neon?
I have a 1999 Dodge Neon, My right rear tail light was rear ended and by the looks of it the tail light just can not be replaced, it looks like the whole right side will have to be replaced. Does anyone know about this? Its a 4 door nothing special about it. Has anyone had to replace it?

A: check your local junk yard for replacement parts sometimes you can get the whole thing for 25 bucks ..prolly less.. if theres body damage i would replace the whole quarter panel

I have a 1999 Dodge Neon. It has been running hot for about 6 months now. For awhile, it was leaking really bad. I have replaced the water pump, themostat, radiator cap and the radiator. Since the repairs, it was running OK, but little by little I noticed the needle climbing as each day goes by. As long as the car is moving, the temperature reads OK, but when idle (even without A/C runnning) the temperature needle begins to climb towards the "H". I wonder what else could be causing the temperature to rise.
A: The fan is not working properly. The car is cool when moving because the air is being forced through due to the speed your car is moving but when stopped the fan has to do the cooling by itself.

Why would a 1996 Dodge Neon stop firing after overheating it does have engine codes 12 and 22 after replacing crank sensor and cam sensor and coil still not firing Please help?

Q: How do you change the light on the trunk on a dodge neon?
I have an 2001 dodge neon and the the brake light that is located in the middle of the trunk lid is out. I have the bulb and everything i just can't figure out how to get it in there.
A: well open the trunk and look up at the wire that is there that is what u need. once u have located that twist the plastic holder and u will now have the socket in ur hand now take out old light and replace with ner bulb, preferably led buld will last much longer, repeat steps and ur done, good luck to you
Q: Can I Change My 2000 Dodge Neon Catalytic Converter Myself?
I have a 2000 Dodge Neon. Can I change the catalytic converter myself without a welding torch to cut the pipe or any other obstacles? I know the new one will come with a pre-converter that bolts to the exhaust manifold. Or is the pre-converter in the exhaust manifold? I don't remember. It shouldn't be.

A: Your going to have to take a look underneath the car and see how the car is setup.
If there are bolts visible to where you are able to unbolt the cat from the rest of the exhaust, then you should be able to do it easily.
Before you attempt to do the work, hit the bolts with some PB blaster DAYS in advance. Soak them maybe like twice a day every day up until you do the actual removal/install.

A: my sons car RF tie rod broke off at the ball joint, bought one for 26bucks at parts store , with common tools we had it fixed in a hour, I've done this before, if you have no talent or tools , the shop will charge you $65 to look at the problem, and $65 a hr. times 2 to repair, plus the parts at there cost , then charge you for a front end alignment ,my guess is somewhere in the ballpark of $250, the new tie rods come with zert grease fittings , get it fix and keep them greased, ad void pot holes,
Q: How do I change out Rear drum brake on a 2000 Dodge Neon to make them disk brakes like the front.?
I have a 2000 Dodge Neon 2.0L I bought front/rear drilled and slotted rotors for. I am trying to change out the rear Drum brakes and replace it with an assembly to house calipers so I may use my matching Rotos on the back. I just got new rims and it looks very bad against the new rim.
A: this would be an expensive and time consuming conversion.
the brake lines, maybe master cylinder, and rear brake mounts would have to be changed, go to a junk yard and get all the parts off of a vehicle
Q: How many miles are people getting out of their Dodge Neon's?
I am thinking about buying a 95 Dodge neon from a friend at a real good price. It is real clean but has about 116,000 miles on it. Even at a steal I don't need another headache that will leave my wife and kid stranded. So I am wondering what kind of miles people are getting out of these things.
A: Neon is a great car, not the prettiest, but very reliable. I have had 2 Neons both were used my 95 had 247,000km (153,000 miles) on it when i bought it and 367,000 km (228,000 miles) on it when i sold it, it was still running great you just have to keep up with the maintenance. Do oil changes, replace brakes, etc. etc. These little cars are very cheap to get parts for too, you can get new brake pads for all 4 corners for under $60.00
Very dirt cheap car, my 98 has 352,000km (218,000 miles) and still runs like a top.
my 95:
- replaced alternator once
- new spark pugs 3 times
- new plug wires 2 times
- new tires 3 times
- new cat converter once
- brake pads 2 times
- brake rotors once
- brake drums once
- new muffler and pipe once
- numerous oil changes and air filters
I estimate i spent under $2000 on all of my maintenance costs (including oil changes)
just give the car what it wants; and it will give you what you want:
A car that will last a long time!
extra note: I live in Canada, I don't park my cars in a garage and i don't use Synthetic oil as it costs 3 times more than reg oil.

Hello, I'm trying to remove the rear bumper off of a 2005 Dodge Neon and have no clue on how to take it off. I have a plastic dent in the back and if I take if off, I may be able to push it back out. Anyone know how I can either take the bumper off or fix the dent? Thanks.
A: Every thing is bolted from the back of it........If you get up under it you will find the bolts.......The bumper support is pretty easy too....But, if all you are worried about is a dent the all you need is the cover.......Just fallow the outside all the way around and you'll find the screws .....It's easy.......I have to fix mine every time someone hits me in a race........I have a 99' neon but 95'-99' Neon's are all 1st generation Neon........Hope This Helps.........Good luck......

The auxilliary powere source inside my 2004 Dodge Neon seems to have shorted out. I am having a difficult time locating the fuse .
A: try looking in the fuse panel under the hood ,i think i remember it being located in that one,it should be a 15 or a 20 amp fuse,good luck.
