Q: 2002 dodge neon cigarette lighter does not work?
I bought a used 2002 dodge neon from a dealership and it use to be a rental. They did something to it to disable the cigarette lighter and even with a new fuse, it does not work. Does anyone have ideas on how to get the cigarette lighter to work? I was given a GPS for Christmas and really want to use it. Thanks.
A: check the fuse for it they either pulled it or pulled the wire on the back of the lighter assembly ,i use to do this for some rental companies,that's usually what they do to them,good luck ,hope you had a good x-mas.
Q: What is wrong with my 2002 dodge neon?
I drive a 2002 dodge neon with 68k miles on it. When i am driving it is fine but when i stop it kind lurches and chokes, almost like a mild version of what those old trucks do when they sputter. I just bought some sea foam and run it through the system hoping to clean it out but i don't think that worked. I know its hard to diagnose a problem without seeing it but if you have any ideas plz let me know.
A: Last tune up? Plugs, injectors cleaned, plug wires, distributor cap,etc, etc. ~:()=

I am unsure how to turn on the fog lights for my 2002 dodge neon. I was playing around with the light signal switch last night and they came on but dont know how I did it or what I touched to make them come on, please help.
The turn signal switch is the switch I was playing with, then I can turn the part to turn on the lights. I can pull the one little knob on the turn signal out but it doesnt do anything :( I know the fog lights work as somehow I got them on yesterday but can't figure out how I did it.
A: the same knob that you turn the lights ( by moving it back and forth) can actually be pulled out, that turns the fog lights on, so grasp the knob and pull outward and you should hear a small click.
Q: 2002 Dodge neon begins to vibrate when I come to a complete stop?
I got a 2002 dodge neon and when I come to a complete stop for instance a red light it will start vibrating, once it starts vibrating I put it on neutral and it stops vibrating then I put it back on drive and the problem disappers. Any idea of what could be causing the problem?
Note: The dashboard doesnt detect any problems, such as engine light its not on

My power outlet (cigarette lighter)in my 2002 Dodge Neon won't work I'm trying 2 figure out what kind of fuse I need and how do I put it in?
A: You will need a 20 Amp Mini fuse. It is found in the PDC(the fuse box under the hood close to the battery). The Chrysler part number is 00ATM20, but you can go to any parts store and ask for a 20 Amp Mini fuse and they would be able to get you the right one. the monte carlo has 85,549 miles on it. The dodge neon is a 2002 with 56k on it. Both are 5,995 dollars. Which would u choose.
I am going with the monte carlo the insurance is less. Car is in great shape.
A: I personally prefer the Monte Carlo, and it's more car and a better car.
However for the price, you could find a 2000 Monte Carlo, which has the current body style.
dpac: the Monte Carlo is only a 1999, why should parts be hard to find? I get easily get parts for my 1981 Oldsmobile.
Q: How to remove the driver's side door panel of a 2002 Dodge Neon?
I have a 2002 Dodge Neon, in which I cannot unlock the door from the outside, w/the key. The lock works fine on the inside. Yesterday I removed all the screws and "popped" loose all the plastic "connections" but couldn't remove the door panel due to the MANUAL window handle. Does anyone know how and if that handle comes of? I have to get to the guts of the door to see why my lock isn't responding when I enter my key...help, this is my wife's car and I hear about it EVERY DAY!!! Thanks!
A: Believe it or not, just check the Chrysler Tech site, there is a "special tool" to do this. It looks a bit like a flat "U" shaped item that when inserted between the window crank and the trim panel. Although it doesn't say, the back side of the handle must have some kind of a release. Most techs will probably improvise. Just be careful not to ruin the trim panel.

i was told that a key could be made useing the last four numbers to my 2002 dodge neon vin number is that true?
A: yes a dealer can usually do that,they use the numbers from the vin number to cut you one,but when you go to them to get his done you have to show proof of who you are and that you own the vehicle other wise they wont make you one,i had one done and i had to show proof of who i was before they would cut one for it,so not just anyone can get a key made for your vehicle,good luck.
Q: where is the fuse for the power windows on a 2002 dodge neon?
i think the fuse went out on the power windows because they wont go up or down and i was just wondering where the fuse box is located on a 2002 dodge neon
A: look on the end of the dash it should be there, if you got the owners manual it will tell you which fuse it is for that one,and it also says which one does what on the cover for the fuse panel,so its real easy to see which one goes for the windows,it either a fuse or the relay gone out if all windows stopped working at the same time,good luck with it.

A: you need to take it and have a shop put it on a rack and check it,that can be the lower control arm doing that or a ball joint,or even top mount for a strut,the vibration you are feeling may be something getting ready to let go,have a shop check it,there's too many things that could cause that,and driving it like this could be dangerous,to you and others around you,good luck.
Q: Dashboard problem on a 2002 Dodge Neon?
My friend's dashboard isn't functioning on her 2002 Neon. The gauges won't work nor will any of the display lights light up PRNDL lights, back light for the gauges, etc. I took a look at the fuses and couldn't figure out which one would cause that to happen.
Is it one of the fuses or will I need to remove the whole cluster and check for a bad connection or will the whole thing just need to be replaced? Thanks.
A: start with the fuses, if youre not sure, check them all. then follow the wires from the battery with a multimeter, check the current till it stops and you found your problem
Q: 2002 Dodge Neon Transmission. Replaced Shift Solenoid then 4 days later transmission died?
I have a 2002 dodge neon with approx 75000 miles. I was told I need to replace the transmission shift solenoid. about 6 months later I had it replaced. 4 days/ 400 miles later the transmission died and had to be rebuilt = planetary gear. When the Dealership replaced the shift solenoid did it cause the transmission failure 4 days later? is it just a coinsidence???
A: It very well may have been a coinsidence. One thing I have learned with transmissions the hard way is to always check the tranny filter. This is no doubt the most overlooked filter on your car, and can cause much trouble and troubleshooting errors. I was trying to troubleshoot my transmission thinking the soleniod was bad yet infact it was a plugged filter.

The lenses have become cloudy as they do on many neons after a time. Is there a way to clean them so they are clear again?
A: Have you been using Windex on them? I don't know what the lenses are made of, but Windex clouds plexiglass. Try using white vinegar.

Rear bolt that attaches the front cross member to the frame has a "gaged" nut within the box frame. The nut is turning and I can't get the bolt out. Anyone have any ideas about how to get the bolt, and the nut out. Thanks.
A: occationally above the welded nut there may be a metal plate just stuck to the inside floor above the nut..they somtimes add this just incase of whats happend to you....what ive done in the apst is grind the bolt head off,remove the crossmember and weld the spinning nut back in place..whilst the wels/nut is hot get a pipe wrench/stillsons and remove the bolt...when refitting use copperslip to stop it happen again...hope this helps

I had it at the needle stop and it was still accelerating. I think the rev limiter is 6,050 rpm.
A: Probably 120 pr so. Just not as fast as my 2004 SRT 4. I have gone 150 in that with more to go.
