A: anyone knows you have to have the reservoir on a car for the cooling system to work right there's about 3 bolts on that one that hold lt on,those aren't hard to swap out at all,but it has to be their,the engines cooling system will pull coolant back in to the radiator when needed through the release and opening of the radiator cap,without the reservoir an engine will over heat,good luck.

We have a 2004 Dodge neon and all of a sudden it wont start up. It cranks but just wont start. I have replaced the spark plugs and it has half a tank of gas. When I turn the key the check engine light is on but then flashes 10 times they stays lit. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
A: you need to have someone with a scanner to hook up to it and pull the trouble code from it,there's something going on with it that i haven't ran across before,usually the check engine light wont flash like that ,have it scanned it should give a trouble code for whats causing it not to start ,good luck.

A: actually id be glad they didn't deploy ,if they had ,and your a small person they could have done more damage than the accident done,but there wasn't enough impact to set those off,had it been a front end collision they probably would have went off,and they can cause serous injury sometimes,good luck.

A: have someone pull the trouble code for it, chances are its just a sensor that's causing that to happen,even a loose gas cap on the newer ones will cause that too happen,especially on the newer ones,hopefully it will be something simple but don't buy nothing for it until you know for sure,good luck.

Usualy does it when I am at work. It has 94000 miles on it, 5 speed and the engine light never comes on. I bought this car new and it has been steadily getting worse over the last couple of months.
A: if it has been doing it that slowly you might want to check and see when the last time you had it tuned up at,it sounds like it might just need a real good tune up,the spark plugs will get old and the gap will become larger than it should be and that will cause them to run bad,id try that ,and also have the computer scanned on it to make sure you don't have any sensors going bad,good luck with it.

Q: How can I solve noisy valve situation on my 2004 Dodge Neon?
Upon start-up, the valves keep ticking for about 1 minute or 1 mile or so. Then the ticking disappears when the engine has warmed. I change oil every 5,000 miles. I use 10/30 weight. Is there anything I can try to stop the ticking? My wife has the same year and model, but she doesn't have this problem. Thanks in advance.
A: 5w30 is technically correct, but 10w30 is ok. teh main thing is a quality oil filter. many aftermarket filters do not have check valves, and all the oil drains back to the pan. frams are terrible for this. k&n filters are probably the best, Mopar filters are great. 5000 miles is too long of an interval. you shoudl get down to 3000. conventional oil starts to breakdown at about 1500 miles. also make sure you are using a good name brand oil. there is a lot of controversy about brand preference, but i can tell you that mobil, castrol, and valvoline are the only ones worth using. pennzoil and havoline i know for sure are not even up to current standards (the designation is on the bottle in letters), and they contain a ton of sludge causing parafin wax. i was told by someone that worked for a recycling company that teh only true virgin oils are mobil, castrol, and valvoline, and if you compare them to the others, it is totally believable.

i have a dodge neon with 15 inch rims and i need bigger tires on it for better ground clearance, i want to know what the biggest tire size i could put on it and not cause problems, i don't want to put new rims on it and i dont care about the speedometer being off
A: The stock 15" size is 185/60R15. I wouldn't deviate too far from that for a larger tire as you will run into problems with the tire rubbing the suspension components on the front and rear. I know on my 1st generation Neon that the space between the top of the tire and the rear strut spring brace is very small ( less than an inch...probably around 1/2" clearance )

I made 2 copies of my car key only to find out that the keys don't actually start the car. I only have 1 working key for the vehicle. Is there any way to program a spare key with just one working key? I saw online that one company could make a new key with 1 working key and a PIN number, whatever that is.... Any ideas?
