Q: where can i buy parts and have then installed for my dodge neon 2005?
i live in Virginia(fairfax) and want to do some exteroir work on my 2005 dodge neon sxt, but dont have the time to do it myself. i was wondering where the best place to bring my car in for work was. I am willing to buy part online and bring them them or order through company. I have done some looking online, but cant realy find anything past buying the actual car.

A: While the parts available at the dealer are made for it, I'm thinking you're probably looking for something that is unique and different from every other Neon out there. There's many different body kits available for Neons. There's some that will fit perfectly without any need for extra work, and some will require some extra work to fit correctly. The better name brand kits will generally be the better kits. If you look in the phone book for "Automobile customizing, conversion and restoration" (it might be slightly different in your book, but should be similar) there should be places listed that can order and install them. Usually, the best prices on body kits are at customizing shops, or from the internet, but remember, you have to add shipping to the internet sale. Other option is to call a body shop and ask them if they paint and install them if you bring them in. Some don't mind, but some won't do it due to difficulty in fitting aftermarket kits like that. Most of the time, they can take the gas door off for paint matching so you can drive the vehicle while they're painting the parts to cut down on the time you have to leave the vehicle there. Some dealerships will order the custom aftermarket kits for you, but you'll usually be able to get the same thing for less from another source.

Q: would a 2005 dodge neon sxt be a good first car for a 16 year old?
I am looking at a dodge neon sxt manual with only 21,000 miles. Would this be a good first car for a male teenager? Also I know its whimpy but are the rumors true that the neons engine with a manual is more powerful then it is rated as? Thank you I appreciatte your answers.

The creaking just started out of the blue last week. It doesn't sound horrible but, it's definitely noticeable (and irritating). I have an appointment at a Dodge dealer on Monday to get it looked at but... I just thought I would check on here in the meantime to find out what it could be (if it's something major or not). A: The lower control arm bushings are probably bad! It is a common thing with Neon's and PT Cruisers Nothing major or dangerous

A: There is probably a button under the steering wheel that has to be pressed as you turn the key back the last step

A: the blocks are exactly the same. they have the same bellhousing pattern, dimensions. etc. the automatic 41te may not handle the power as well as the manual. the auto was used in the pt turbo, but they don't get driven as hard as a neon.

Q: I have a 2005 Dodge Neon when stopped at a red light rpms are usually about 500 and it idles rough? Any ideas?
If i just tap the gas and make the RPMs go a little higher to about 700-800 the roughness in the idle goes away and it is okay. But it always seems to go back to the 500 and idle roughly, if i am stopped for too long or when i stop again. PLEASE HELP!

A: id also check the spark plugs in it when they start to get older the gap becomes wider in them and it makes it idle lower,id check that and the mass air flow sensor,and the air filter,either of those will cause a low idle,its not nothing to major though as long as its not stalling out on you it should be a simple fix,good luck.

Q: What size are my 2005 Dodge Neon SXT wheels?
I wanted to get some cool looking rims. First off, what is the difference between rims and wheels. Then, what size are the wheels.

Q: Does anyone know how to program a remote for a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT?
My car keys were missing so I had the car towed to the dealer and had a new set of keys made. The person who took the keys has now returned them to me but the keyless entry remote no longer works. Does anyone know how I can reprogram the remote so that it works again? I do have the new remote but it would be nice to get the old one working again. Thanks!

A: we do it at work with a DRB. just did one on my 05. call the dealership and explain that the keys were found blah blah blah and see if they will reprogram the fob too. we usually will program a fob for free if we did the key recently. if not we charge 1/2 hour labor to do it....

I would like my engine to sound nice but with a little more power without blowing my wallet.

A: What is the use??? It is a Dodge Neon after all. If you wanted more performance, you should have bought a Mitsu Evo or a Subaru WRX.

Q: What exactly does the speed chip on the 2005 Dodge Neon SXT do?
Just curious. It came stock with the vehicle and someone had told me that it limited me to 90mph. While on a road trip, i touched 115 for a min or two :p So that theory failed. Im guessing its just some sort of stock performance chip. Specs anyone? *just added* I mention "Chip" because that was on the "specs" sticker that shows EPG and everything the car has. All it says is "Speed Chip" Appreciate the help guys.

A: The Neon is limited to 118 mph. Dodge vehicles don't use a "chip", it is a computer. A stock Neon will not have a performance computer from the factory. To upgarde to high performance computer for more power etc., check at Hypertech or Jet Performance or Mopar websites.

Q: I am planning a road trip...about how much would a tune up for my 2005 Dodge Neon cost?
The car has about 50,000 miles currently on it, and my road trip will be approximately 3500 miles. The car is in very good shape right now, but I am wondering what kinds of maintenance I should do before I leave and how much that will cost. Thanks for any advice.

A: 5 quarts of 10w-30 oil (Castrol/ Valvoline/etc): $11 (it uses 4.5 quarts, don't over-fill it) Oil filter: $4 Spark plugs: $15 Spark Plug wires: $20 spark plug gap gauge: $2 (required to set the spark plugs) Air Filter: $10 at most Chiltons/Haynes Repair Manual: $15 (not absolutely necessary, but very useful for when you need information right away) You'll need a decent socket set with 10mm-20mm sockets, an extension and spark plug socket (I think it's the 13/16" one for the Neon, can't remember off-hand, ask at Autozone), along with a jack and jack stands. You can use the tire-changing jack, but I HIGHLY reccomend against it, for safety reasons (I've heard plenty of stories where a car fell off the tire-changing jack). If you go this route, don't get under the car when removing the oil drain plug, use more extension bars. And most of all, having a friend nearby to hand you tools will make it go quicker and less nerve-wracking. Doing this yourself will give you the satisfactor of knowing what you put in your car and knowing you did the job the right way. All of these are easy to do, and very straightforward. I've done them all on my mom's 2000 neon several times. Email me and I'll gladly walk you through the procedures. Total investment: $77, not including tools ($25 will do it) or jack and stands ($35) PS. A girl that knows her car gets an A+ from me!

A: personally i think about all neon's were good little cars,there's an awful lot of them still on the road today,as for the sxt,s those were nice cars ,the rode a little noisy but that was due to the design and lack of insulation in them,but the sxt was a really good car,if you can find one that's not worn out or has been really taken care of it would make you a real good car,the one you described sounds like a good deal but have it checked really good,the mileage is extremely low on that car,so you may be getting a really good car from this,have a mechanic look it over before you buy it,it pays to do that these days,good luck with it.

my parents are most likely buying me a 2005 dodge neon sxt..what is so great about that car..my sister told me that these cars are known to give you transmission problems..is that true..do these cars tend to last a long time..if i am going to end up taking it to the garage every week, i am not going to buy it..

A: those are really good little cars,there's not many cons to owning one of those even though most people will make fun of those and dodges,their good cars,they hold up well ,if you get one that has been taken care of,you,ll probably get a pretty good car,like any other car though if it wasn't maintained real well it will give problems,just have it checked real good before you buy it,that's the best thing you can do with any car ,good luck with it,i think it will make you a good car,and you can add to those to make them run a lot better also,have a good new years.

I have a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT OEM radio set (front dash speakers, side door speakers, 6x9 speakers, in-dash CD Player and AM/FM tuner (no CD changer)) that came with my 2005 Dodge Neon when I bought it 2 years ago. At 31miles on the car (bought with 16miles) I removed the entire kit and had a full system professionally installed (speakers, amps, head-unit, wiring). I wanted to sell the set, and I wanted to know if anyone knows the value of it, and even more important where I could sell it (aside from eBay and online auctions). It's in mint condition, it was used to the point of a few quick drives, then taken out to install the new system I had put in. It's been in storage for nearly 2 years now, un-touched and still sealed up. Any help on this would be awesome, thank you in advance.
