Q: dodge ram?
i'm wanting to buy this dodge ram 1500 daytona 4x4 that i found, what kind of gas mileage can i expect if i go the speed limit. not saying that i will go the speed limit, but if i did.
A: it should be in the upper teens, and the tranny's aren't bad in the dodges unless you don't know how to use the overdrive properly. If you run with the overdrive on when you are towing you will wreck the tranny. i have 118k on mine and still no problems. Oh and if you like trucks the bad fuel milage just comes with it.
Q: I have a 1988 Dodge Ram 100 series Pickup what is the best way to hook up a radio/setup, bad wire prev owner?
I purchased a Dodge Ram 100 series pickup, everything is running and I love to learn how to do things, but I am not sure how to get the radio going. I have a simple radio in it with one speaker, but it does not pick anything up with no sound. I checked the speaker and it works. I am not sure how to check the antenna or anything, but willing to learn. Any advice where to go and look for this infomation?

if your not getting any sound from you stereo then maybe the wires to your speaker arent good try putting some new ones from the back of the stereo to your speakers

Hi I just got my license and i want to get a dodge ram 1500. When I get it I am going to lift it up 3 inches and 33 inch tires on it. Because im planning on offroading it. What would be a good color and an easy color to take care of for it. Please answer as soon as possible.
A: in an off road situation the darker the color the more that scratches will show, white will show just as bad, for the best color to hide scratches will be in the grey to silver range.

1998 dodge ram, seems to up shift to down shift from overdrive to 3.Meaning its an automatic.Whats your judgement?
A: Mopar OD trans are designed to drop out of OD at somewhere around 75% throttle demand, other factors come into play also, vacuum signal (represents load), road speed, shift lever position, etc. Also at WOT the trans will not upshift.
Q: How to install a clutch in a 1983 Dodge Ram?
I can't afford to take the truck to a mechanic, so I am doing it myself. I need step by step directions on how to install a clutch in my 1983 dodge ram.
A: is it 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive or what,you need to provide that information then i can tell you step by step how to change it out,and having a repair manual around really helps on that one,you,ll need one anyway for the torque specifications on that one,and you don't have to worry about getting off a notch on installing a clutch it makes no difference on those,i have changed enough to know that,good luck
Q: If I lower the back end of my Dodge Ram truck how much will that decrease my load capacity?
I was planning on taking out 1 of the spacers in the back to make the front and rear look the same level. I pull a boat on occassion and carry firewood. The truck is a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x2 4door.
A: jeff s ain't foolin' ya! I don't see why you would go to so much trouble to lessen your trucks usefulness when the front-end may be a little more expensive to raise, but I suspect that there may be a mechanical problem up there that would be smarter and better to check before going any further with the rear suspension!
Q: How hard is it to replace a heater core in a Dodge Ram truck?
I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. The coolant was pouring out the bottom. I took it in and was told that I need to have the heater core replaced, thermostat replaced, and a coolant flush. The estimate was $600. Is this a decent price? Is it work that can be done without a repair shop? Any answers are greatly appreciated.
A: You have to evacuate the A/C system and pull the whole dash out in order to get to the heater core. Pay the $600.00.

Q: How do I fix a 1995 Dodge Ram that shakes when accelerating?
I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500, The vehicle shakes as you apply the gas pedal. No matter what speed you are going as soon as you apply the gas it starts to shake. When you let off of the gas it returns to normal. All of the engine mounts appear to be fine. I was told it could possibly be the O2 sensor, but I am not sure. I was also told also to look at the fuel filter. I am not familiar with how to check for codes. What can I do?
My check engine light is not on. The only light that is on is my ABS light. Would it be the u-joints if it doesnt do it any other time but when I am accelerating?
A: Have you checked all your wheels as you may have knocked off a weight on one of your rims? Or have you checked to see if the rims have any clay or mud built up? Possible one of your tires is seperating? Any of these issues will throw your balance on your tires and cause it to shake bad at any speed.
Take your truck in for a wheel balance and see if this will help or a possible cause to your shaking.
If this does not work then I would be thinking in the lines it is one of your U-joints on your axles that is going.
If it was fuel filter it would cause more surging/jerking in your vehicle as it trying to fuel your motor.
Q: How do i tighten the steering box on my 98 dodge ram?
I have a 98 dodge ram with really sloppy steering ive messed with everything the pitkin arm, tierods, tracbar and still the steering is sloppy. I was told there is a way to tighten the steering box up with a allen wrench and a 15mm wrench any suggestions?
A: Did you try looking at the steering coupler to see if it was worn?tighten the adjuster nut on the steering box
1. Find the center of the steering gear travel by rotating the steering wheel completely to the left then, rotate the steering wheel to the right while counting the numbers of turns required to reach the end of travel.
2. Rotate the steering wheel to the left 1/2 the number of turns counted in the previous step. This position should be the center of the steering gear travel
3 Loosen the locknut on the pitman shaft adjuster screw Make sure the adjuster screw is held and does not turn with the locknut
4. Turn the adjuster screw in approximately 1/8 of a turn. While holding the adjuster screw, tighten the adjuster screw locknut.
5. Road test the vehicle to determine if the over-center adjustment has corrected vehicle wander. If vehicle wander still occurs, repeat steps 1-5.

Q: 1998 dodge ram making clicking noise from under steering column?
1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 318 engine. Since I've bought the truck there has been a clicking/clacking noise from under the steering colum. The noise gets louder as I press the gas pedal down further. I have no idea what this relation could be between the gas pedal and the noise coming from under the steering column. Any help would be appreciated.
A: Those year trucks were real bad about the intermediate shaft getting noisy. That's the starring coupling under the hood that connects the steering to the gear box. It has to telescope in and out to accommodate the movement of the body to frame movements. If it gets loose, it will rattle. Check with you're dealer to see if it still has a recall.

i have a 96 dodge ram i want to know how can i add more hp or make run faster or even make it waste less gas using it the way i usually used it. ohh yea try to make the parts are cheap please
A: There is really no such thing as cheap speed or power. If you want power you have to pay for it. I would go to a junk yard, find a 360, and properly build it yourself. Then you will learn how to properly rebuild a motor, you can put in a performance cam, and heads, and you can do that reletivly cheap.
Q: Where can I find hub-centric wheel spacers for a 1996 Dodge Ram?
Im looking into getting wheel spacers for my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500. So far I have read that hub-centric spacers are definitely the way to go. Has anyone had experience with spacers on a truck? Does anyone know a good place to buy them? Any information and tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Q: How do I find the value of a Dodge Ram Passenger Van?
I have a 1987 Dodge Ram E350 16 Passenger Van in Puerto Rico. How do I find out the value of it if I want to sell it. Kelly's blue book doesn't have it. Where else could I look? It's in fair condition, since it needs a little body work.

Q: Where can I get a good compressor for my Dodge Ram?
I need to replace the air conditioner compressor in my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. Where can I get a good one for a bargain? Not even sure which compressor I need. Do I need to replace anything else when I do this?
A: Your best bet is to buy a rebuilt or new depending on the price. at a auto parts store. Buying a junkyard compressor you may have to do it 2 or 3 times because you don't know what condition it is in. Also you need to replace the drier (like a oil filter on your engine) and the orifice tube or expansion valve which ever it has. And if the old compressor blew up or went bad you need to flush the system to remove the trash it put in the system. Replace a few orings and new oil, fix any leaks and evacuate and recharge the system with proper type and amount of refrigerant. This wont be cheap possibly $1000. range but any shortcuts and you may get to do it again..................UJN
