Q: What is the best way to fix mild body damage/rust on a 1994 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton?
My dad just bought a 1994 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton 2WD truck that has some pretty intense rust and some body damage. We are going to fix the damage in our home shop for the most part...what we are looking for is the best methods for getting the rust away and keeping it away.

A: Duct tape and bumper stickers.

Q: What would make overdrive go out on a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel?
I have a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel. It has 344,000 miles on it. It has an Automatic Transmission. I would like to know what would make overdrive go out of it. The guy who owned it before me used it to pull gooseneck trailers. Could this be a big reason for the transmission problems?? the transmission was rebuilt 80000 miles ago

A: Ashley, there are a lot of variables really. When you say "out" u mean it just doesnt shift into overdrive, or when it does try, it just isnt there and the tranny slips, causing the engine to Rev up in RPMs? Check out one, or all of these online forums, you will find lots of info pertaning to your truck, even some info on making it more powerful. My username is Cowboy_Customs on all of them, dont be afraid to get ahold of me if you have a question. But do need more info in order to correctly answer your question. www.cumminsforum.com www.dieselbombers.com There are MANY others as well, but these are just some of the real good ones

Q: How much Horse power is in my 1994 Dodge Ram B250?
I drive a 5.9L V8 1994 dodge B250 and i was just wondering how much Power was under the Hood?

A: You should have 250 HP under the hood!

Q: How do I know if the shocks are going bad on my 1994 dodge ram?
5.9 L 4wd. Also thers a 5th shock that sits sideways, in the front suspension, what is it and what happens if it goes bad?

A: that's a steering stabilizer shock it just stops the steering wheel from shaking when you hit a bump ,it helps absorb the shock from the road bumps, you can do a bounce test on the shocks to see if their bad, bounce up and down on the truck a few times, and it if it bounces more than three times when you stop bouncing it,the shocks are bad, good luck ,hope you had a very good x-mas.

Q: Is a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel with a Automatic Transmission any good or reliable?
I have a chance to purchase this truck for $5,500 dollars and i would just like to know if it will last a pretty good long time. Also are the transmissions any good and is the fuel mileage any good?

A: Unfortunately there is no right answer to this question. Like the previous person said, it depends on what and how the truck has been used and maintained over the last 13 years. If you are looking for average dependability on this vehicle, check out a few different sites like www.kbb.com, www.nada.com, and your best bet may be at www.consumerreports.com. You would probably have to take it to your mechanic to get a better idea of the projected durability of this exact engine and transmission. Fuel mileage is also going to depend on what kind of shape this truck is in. Good luck, but make sure to do some investigating before investing that much money into a truck of this age.

Q: I just replaced a water pump on a 1994 dodge ram 1500. What should I charge for labor?
What should I charge for labor? It was an involved job, I've changed many water pumps but this was one of the more difficult that most I have done. I do tons of side jobs but feel like i'm cutting myself short sometimes. What would be a fair price for labor on this vehicle. I can't imagine a shop would let you leave for under a couple hundred in labor, so I figure 80 bucks may be fair?? What do you think?

A: I would say about $150 Especially if you have to pull the radiator

Q: 1994 dodge ram B350 van starting problems ?
I have a 1994 dodge ram B350 van (5.9L V8) and it starts just fine when i first start it but when i drive it enough for the engine to get to normal temp. and turn it off it will not restart but most of the time if this happens it has a full day to cool off before i try to start it agian. I just replaced the battery, starter, and the crank sensor in it, What could be causing this? Anybody else have this problem? All help is greatly appreciated!

A: it could be the coil going bad on it when they go bad they will not start until the cool completely off, then the will run good for a while and go through the same process all over again,id check that and see if its getting fire when its hot, that may be the problem, good luck.

Q: Installing a radio in a 1994 dodge Ram 1500 ?

Q: How do I change the tensioner pulley on a 1994 Dodge Ram Van?

A: Take the belt off, unbolt the pulley, and reinstall. However, Dodge has problems with the tensioner, so I would just replace the whole thing. They are only about $30-$40. In that case, just take the belt off. There is a 15mm nut on the back side of the tensioner right behind the ignition coil on the passenger side of the van. Simply take that nut off, and remove the tensioner. When you go to reinstall the new one, make sure that you have the pin lined up on the engine, and then just tighten the nut, and reinstall the belt. Might as well put a new belt on as well.

Q: How to remove the rear brake drums on 1994 dodge ram pickup?
I need to get the drums off the rear to replace the shoes.. But the drums are stuck.. the parking brake is not on.. the wheel/drum turns around but the drum will not budge off. I have hit it with a hammer/small sledge but no avail.. they will not even break free.. HELP I have backed the adjuster out.. the drums wont break free from the axel.... any ideas?

A: Try some WD-40 for the rust and beat the hell out of it with a dead blow hammer, you don't want to risk damaging the drums with a metal hammer/sledge. My 97 Neon has rear drum brakes as well and the rust needs to be knocked around a little bit to get them off.

Q: does anyone know how much$ a transmission will cost on a 1994 dodge ram truck?
I am in the inland empire

A: depends of if the core is buildable. If it is buildable. figure $1200.00 with a torque conveter. Add any extras: like cooler flushed, u joints, engine or/and transmission mounts, or if you have 4 wheel drive (remove the transfer case) Stay away from dealerships that charge $125 dollars and up and don't offer a nationwide warranty. (if you have a Diesel truck--you will have to add $500-$1000 on to that price)

Q: Was there any sort of programmer or chip made for a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 with a V10? If so where can I find it?
The only ones that I have found for the V10 are for ones newer than a 1994. So are any of these ones compatible or is there one out there for a 1994?

A: try jetchip.com i put one in my truck and i got about 4-6 mpg and not sure on the HP rating but i notice a big difference

Q: what is the easiest way to replace water pump on 1994 dodge ram b250 6 cylinder engine?

A: pay the mechanic to do it, you won't even break a sweat.

Q: Is it normal for a 1994 Dodge Ram 3500 automatic?
to delay or pause when you put it in reverse? I just picked up a nice 1 ton and noticed when I put it in reverse, and only reverse, it pauses sometimes up to 3 seconds, when I put it in reverse, before it engages. If its not standard, and I suspect its not, what would you say I need to check? (a friend said that it just needs the tranny flushed, Dodge mechanics, is that accurate?)

A: Check transfluid level first. If its at the proper level then you need the valve body scanned for codes with the Dodge VDO4371 diagnosic transmission scanner compatible with OB11 & Can Snap-On scanner.

Q: How many bolts does the starter on my 1994 Dodge Ram pickup have. It has 5.9L engine, auto tranny, 4x4,reg cab

A: ther is actually 1 bolt and the other is a nut and stud that screws into the transmission
