Q: I have a 2001 dodge ram 2500 transmission problem?
I have a 2001 dodge ram 2500 automatic with the Cummins. I am having transmission problems. When I take off in Drive it is very sluggish and when I come to a complete stop it jerks back into first, but when I take off from1st and then shift to 2nd and finally into drive everything is fine. Any ideas? Thank for any help!
A: any transmission shop will test drive it for free and tell you what they think it is wrong with it,have that done first before you do anything to it,most transmission shops are good at what they do and they will tell you whats causing that too happen,good luck.

A: when you open the door on that one look on the end of the dash pad,there's panel that you can remove,and when you do you,ll see the flasher unit in there,its a small square one,there will be two of them,one for the emergency flashers and one for the turn signals,good luck on it.

I replaced the battery on my 2001 Ram Van Wagon 2500, 5.9l engine. Started up initially, the next time it wouldn't start. The oil pressure, temp, fuel and alt gages don't work. If I leave ignition on odometer begins to flash and check engine light comes on. A couple of days later, it started and I moved it. Yesterday and today it won't start.
A: if the fuel and voltmeter don't work that means the engine controller is not working. get it started and drive it or have it towed to a dealer. guessing at this problem will be expensive.

i have a 2001 dodge ram 3.9 v6, had my tanny rebuild. the guy said and even wrote on the receipt that the transmission he put in was a a518, i check it online, the transmission they had for my truck is a500 not the 518. could someone clear this up for me please ? i know they are different, what kind of harm would it do to my truck ? it works fine, but just concern. thanks
A: it wont cause no harm to your truck the 518 is just a heavier duty transmission and will last longer that's all,and its newer than the 500 is,he did you a favor by swapping those out,good luck.

A: you need a repair manual on that one it doesn't matter who gives you step by step answers on this ,they cant show you pictures of this,and you will need some of those to work with also,good luck on it. the Haynes manual is the best for what your doing.

A: a) Check if fuel is getting in the cylinder (try starting then check for gas on plugs). If not check fuel pump, and fuel filter.
b) Check for spark/ if not check ignition system for loose components.
c) Check for loose vacuum lines, and emissions components.
d) Make sure the fuel is not old.

I have removed every visible bolt from under the hood and under the dash. I have removed the bracket in the middle floor board on the airbag computer. I have detached all lines that run into the hvac housing, but the housing will not move! Are there any on the driver's side that need removed? Any bolts anywhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The heater core. But, nevermind I found the damn thing hidden behind a plate that mounts the three relays.

A: First remove the trans pan and filter. look theres two levers one in the front passenger side corner and one in the rear passenger side corner. pull on them with your finger. The front one should move about 7/16 of an inch.The rear one about 3/8 of an inch. They rarely need adjusting. But if you think they are looser than that,then loosen the lock nut and tighten the center nut a little bit DO NOT OVER THIGHTEN THE BAND. The front band adjustment nut is outside the trans by the trans line and the rear band adjustment nut is right on the lever itself. RECHECK the levers by pulling on them with your finger.
