Q: What are car seat laws in california for a 2005 dodge ram?
I have a 2005 dodge ram w/o the back seat and plan on going on a 7 hr trip. My daughter is 3 years old and about 35 - 40 lbs. The middle seat in the truck is small and she seems to fit it fine. But I was wondering with a truck do I need to find a way to put her big car seat in there? Does anyone know the laws for a car seat in CA for a truck?

Q: 2005 Dodge Ram Laramie Performance Chip?
I've gotten a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi recently and I'm wanting to install a performance chip. It seems a lot of the websites I've looked at instantly start talking about diesel and I've definitely got a GAS engine. Not all that sure of which one would be best or even what all of my better options are when it comes to this. I'm planning a 6 inch lift with possibly 35 inch rubber later on. Any questions, comments, help would be much appreciated.
A: you don't use chip like you do on a regular vehicle ,with a dodge its bette to go with a programmer it allows you to dial in the shift points a lot better and dial in the timing more closer on it,it has a list of performance settings that it comes with already programmed in to it,all you do is dial it in to the desired running condition you want it set at,they cost a small fortune for a real good one but if you want more from it its worth it in the long run,look on this site for that truck you,ll see what im talking about in price and performance,good luck.http://autopartswarehouse.com

A: If you change the height of your truck at either end, it will throw the alignment out of whack and premature tire wear will occur.
It's always best to take it to an alignment shop for that kind of venture.

Q: 2005 Dodge RAM external temperature sensor?
My question is twofold. Firstly, where is the outside temperature sensor located on a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 turbodiesel? This sensor tells you what the outside temperature is and displays it on your rearview mirror. Could you please be specific so I know exactly where to look? What does it look like?
Second part of my question is how much would a replacement sensor cost and where could I find one? I searched on the net but most results are for oxygen sensors and such, not what I need.
A: I have a 2007 ram3500 the sensor I found is mounted to the side of the intercooler. it looks like a short probe with wires. are you sure the sensor is bad? probably not much call for one after market. check with dealer

i am starting to look for new wheels and tires for dodge. also it is 4wd, so i want to find wheels and tires that look good.
A: Check out 4WheelParts, they sell Mickey Thompson, Pro Comp, and Dick Cepek rims and tires, also sell BF Goodrich. I whole heartily recommend BF Goodrich tires, they are really rugged and durable. I have the All Terrain's on my Truck and they are just awesome. Note:BF Goodrich tires are on the upper side of the dollar$$. Q: can you add multi displacement to an engine for a 2005 dodge ram truck?
i know dodge came out with the multi displacement engine in 2006 but i was wondering if there is a way that you can do it to older trucks?
A: not that i know of this is a newer system and is controlled by the computer system,and the engine, i don't think its possible to add this,you don't get that much of a gain from it anyway,good luck.
Q: Has anyone out there had any problems with their 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi acting like it is being starved of fuel?
Surges at low rpms like its not getting enough fuel.Fuel filter and pump are fine.No engine codes.
A: 2 possibilities that i am seeing every day. could be egr valve stuck partially open with carbon. causes the controller to think it is running rich so it pulls the injector pulsewidths way back and leans it out. you could replace teh valve or remove it and clean it. about 1/2 of the time a code will not set. the other possibility is carbon buildup in the throttle body. when the blade is closed the gum sticks the blade to the bore. when you hit the throttle it has to break loose, the truck hesitates then jerks.
Q: Does anybody know the inlet/outlet size for the catalytic converters on a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 ?
Motor is a 287 V8 4.7L. I'm about to buy a set of Magnaflow cats for it but i don't know the size and i don't wanna drop my old cats out before i have the new ones cause i dunno if i can get them back on there lol.
A: three inches on both ends-don't move the rear oxygen sensors or you will get a check engine light that won't go off,you also void the 8 year/80 thousand mile warranty on emissions system and possibly your entire warranty.converter assemblies are the best way to go rather than indiv cats

when I plug in the trailer to my truck, the lights do not work. i think it has something to do with my truck because the trailer lights work when plugged up to other vehicles. Could this be a fuse or something? if so, where would I find it?
A: it could be a fuse or it could be the way they are wired,if the lights work on the truck and not on the trailer then it may be the way they are wired,if it blew a fuse every time you hooked it up then it would be a fuse problem,and that would be because of the way the truck was wired for the trailer,id be checking the color codes on the truck to make sure it was wired right for the trailer,good luck with it.

I've checked all my lights, blinkers, license plate light, even the glovebox light, nothing is out. Does anyone know where I should look next? Thanks!

It's either a problem with the Lamp Out sensor or you have another issue and that's a diagnostic code.

No hemi, just the regular V6 engine, with labor included, etc
A: I'm no Dodgeman, but for a NEW engine, dealer installed, I should think 4 to 5 k. The new engine is about 4 k or so, the labor can vary.
Q: Has anyone lifted the front end of thier 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4x2 Quad Cab?
I think the 4x2 dodge's front end should be even with the rear. I need to lift it about 4inches to make the truck level. I don't want to lower the back end, because I think that lowering a truck is the all-time stupid thing to do.
A: If you have a good spring builder he can build a custom spring . To give whatever lift you want . that should be all you need .
Q: CD with a protective skin stuck in my 2005 Dodge Ram CD player?
The CD will not play or eject. What is the best way to get this out? We have tried a tweezers and a few other things short of taking it into the shop.
A: The best, and safest, way to remove a stuck CD in a player like that is to have the player removed from the vehicle and taken apart. Any other way could cause severe damage to the player. Best to have someone who knows how to do this perform this.

where can a I get a diagram to print out?
A: its a position sensor, and its the the egr vavle. if your truck has a 5.7, there is a pcm flash for that code setting that just came out. go to the dealer before replacing the egr valve to see if the pcm needs flashed. it will be covered for 80,000 miles under federal emissions warranty.
