Q: Dodge Viper?
I have a 2006 Dodge Viper and went to a local Dodge dealer to make an appointment for my first oil change. I bought the Viper at another dealership 200 miles away. The service manager said they couldn't do the oil change because they don't have any Viper-trained technicians. What is so special or different about changing the oil in a Dodge Viper?
I should have said that's it's not a free oil change.
A: I am a recently retired Dodge dealer. In order to do any service on a Viper, the dealer must have Viper certified technicians. If not, they cannot work on the vehicle. First of all, many dealers may not even have a lift that goes low enough to lift the car. If the vehicle is put on the wrong type of lift, it can damage the frame.
If you had the vehicle worked on by a dealer that was not certified, it could void your warranty. I know it doesn't sound right or fair, but that's the way it is.
Q: where can i find a dodge viper thats in good condition and cheap?
I would like a fairly recent dodge viper in good condition for a fairly cheap price. I know, vipers arent cheap but it would be my greatest dream to have one. And I'm sure my dad would love to drive around in it too. So any ideas?

Q: How could a Dodge Viper accelerate from 0-60 MPH quicker than a Mercedes S65 AMG when it has less torque?
The Dodge Viper has about 500 pounds of torque when the Mercedes S65 AMG has over 700. Yet, the Viper accelerates from 0-60 in just over 3 seconds while the S65 accelerates from 0-60 MPG in 4.2 seconds. Why is this?
A: There are so many variables here.... where to begin.
The s65 is heavier and is geared differently. There are horsepower and torque curves to consideras well. Bottom line, priority was not on trap speed (0-60) for this car, at least not as much as for the Viper.
The Viper and the Corvette z06 hae been in a head to head battle for trap speed for years, it is a BIG PRIORITY for Viper. It is practically the ONLY thing it does well.
The s65 is in a class by itself ( I suspect you know this). MB is not concerned about losing a sale to Dodge over trap speed!
Q: Is the Dodge Viper always a stick shift?
I know this question sounds incredibly stupid to some car enthusiasts, but I have never really sat in a Dodge Viper. And I'm wondering, do all Dodge Vipers have stick shifts or can they come in automatic as well? And if so, is that because its a V10 engine? The only reason I ask is because I can't drive a stick.
A: vipers as far as i know are all standard shift cars,they did this to keep them sporty ,and they seem to hold up a lot better also,the newer ones are 6 speed transmissions,and very fast cars,if you get a chance go test drive a 6 speed,it will surprise you on speed,good luck,and happy new years.
Q: What is the best colour/strip for a Dodge Viper?
The Dodge Viper is one of my favorite cars and I am just wondering what paint job would look the best.
I think the venum red with a white strip would look good.

Q: Does anyone know how to adjust the clutch on a Dodge Viper?
The clutch on my Dodge Viper goes too far down to the floor and I want to adjust it so it doesn't go too far down.
A: Actually it is just a matter of adjusting the pedal. Go under your dash and there will be a set of cables that adjust your pedals. It should be in the ops manual. Anyway, just remove the clip and turn the cable clockwise to bring the pedal (s) towards you and counter clockwise to push them further away.
Q: Would you let a college student get a Dodge Viper?
- I made a promise to my son when he was 13 that if he got a full-ride scholarship to Princeton University, I would get him a Dodge Viper, and he did. The scholarship was privately granted. He is extremely bright, and overall excellent person, and terrific at driving manuals. I am not sure, because of the fact that students have an outdoor public parking lot(s), and it might (probably) would be trashed. I am also not sure if there is a private parking garage in Princeton relatively close to campus. What do you think?

Q: dodge viper smoking head gaskets replaced and o2 sensors?
98 dodge viper gts. just had head gaskets replaced. Dropped pan, changed oil three times to flush. cut heads .005 to clean up. driven it about 15 miles and it seems to smoke a little under hard acceleration, just at take off. It appears to be oil smoke, any ideas? will this go away. Car runs great, smoke is intolerable.

A: Could be burning the oil off of the piston , from when the head job was done , should clear up soon.
Q: How fast can a Dodge Viper go?
How fast can a Dodge Viper go? Is it a really fast sports car? How much do they usually go for ... and one last question ... do the women consider these sports cars to be extremely sexy?
A: How fast CAN it go? Seen videos doing high 7's in the quarter. Otherwise I think it's around 10-11 seconds....but not totally sure. Sells for around 80-90k. Gold diggin' women consider anything sexy if it stickers for that kinda cash!

A: You made a promise. Backing out now for whatever reason is feeble. Get him the car and put lo-Jack and a good security system on it. Insurance does serve a purpose should any problems occur while parking in a public lot. So by all means, honor yourself for the great job you did raising that fine young man. Get him the Viper and be proud. Maybe he'll do the same for you in the future.

A: i like any viper they make that's the one car that i think Chrysler builds that is really worth its money and does hold its re-sale value,but you wont see to many of these setting on car lots for sale,their all home in well protected garages,the ascari is a nice one ,i don't think they ever built a bad viper,if they have i haven't seen it yet,i have seen a few get wrecked,but they all got fixed back ,this is one car you wont see in a junk yard,good luck with it.

A: check through some of the rental companies they may have access to one of those ,that's not a normal rental vehicle though,and I'm sure it would cost plenty,it can be done though,anything can be done,good luck.
Q: Dodge Viper - Any recommendations on how to improve the sound?
I've got a 2006 Viper and the exhaust sound simply isn't representative of the V10 power and looks of the car. I know it's one of the many quirky traits of the Viper but it needs something more than the typical drone. Anyone have any reasonable ideas on how to "pony car" the exhaust system?
A: The borla exhaust is pretty amazing on vipers. I have a good buddy that used to be a viper guy/racer, and his with the borla is amazing.

All Viper fans are aware that the new 2008 Dodge viper with 600 HP and 560lbs of torque, will be released this summer, (there is no 2007 model).
