Q: 2005 Dodge Viper Coupe 0-60 mph?
My Best friend who is only 16 years old just got a 2005 dodge viper coupe for himself. I read it does 0-60 mph in 3.9 sec is that about right?
A: In 2005 the Viper was only available as a convertible, no coupe option
Q: Stock 2005 Ford G.T. VS. Stock 2005 Dodge Viper?
Who wins? Top speeds? Prices?
A: Only 4200 GTs were be produced total in the 2005-2006 model run and most dealerships will not get a GT. NO GTs will be produced in 2007. The final Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $155,000 - $169,000 depending on options.. With only a few hundred GTs, and many enthusiasts, Ford employees and Ford dealers hoping to get a GT, market conditions and customer demands are predicted to result in substantially higher selling prices, particularly for cars built in the first part of the model year. Dealers offering their GT for sale to the public will likely take bids to determine who will get to purchase "the One."
Car and Driver magazine test driver drove a Ford GT from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Car and Driver also recorded a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds at 128 mph. In the same test, Ferrari's $193,000 Challenge Stradale took four seconds to reach 60 mph and was 0.8 second and 13 mph slower through the quarter-mile.
"It wasn't even a contest," wrote Car and Driver's Larry Webster. "The Ford GT so completely dusted off its two highly recognized competitors (the Ferrari Stradale and Porsche 911 GT3) that if we wanted to make this a real challenge, we would have had to go way up the 'supercar' price ladder . . . The Ferrari and Porsche both require an upshift before 60 mph, but the Ford does not, which accounts for some of the huge sprint-time advantage."

Since its first existence as a '92 model, the Dodge Viper has always been about power. But with the 2005 model, it's gone from basic powerhouse to a far more refined performance super-car, available as a coupe or roadster (convertible). The Viper's V-10 output has increased from 400 horsepower in '92 to an alarming 500 ponies for '05, making this one of the fastest production cars on the planet. It also might be the best handling. MSRP: $81,495; Warranty: 3/36,000
After unlatching and easily dropping its soft-top, I slid the key into the ignition which energized the Viper's electrical system. Then came the moment of elation as I put my finger on the red dash-mounted 'engine start' button and fired up 500 of the meanest horses Dodge has ever corralled under a hood. Although I've driven several powerful cars in my life, I was stunned by the explosive power under the Viper's long, double-gilled hood. The source of that energy utilizes 10 cylinders to create a whopping 8.3-liters (505 cu in) of combustible space. Once engaging the accelerator, prepare to feel the brutal kick of 525 pound-feet of torque in a vehicle that at 3,380-lbs, weighs less than a Nissan 350Z convertible - get the picture, or should I say punch? DaimlerChrysler claims a Viper 0 to 60-mph time of less than 4 seconds, and I'm a believer. A car with this much 'go' better have as much 'stop.' I don't think the Viper's antilock 4-wheel discs got anything warmer than room temperature; remaining strong, predictable and fade-free throughout my descent on a twisty mountain road. And, not for nothing, you just have to hear the side-outlet exhaust pipes roaring at full volume. It's almost frightening.

On a personal note, a friend of mine here in L.A. owns an exotic car rental business with several Vipers, GT's, Ferrari, and Lambos, he personally owns a 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago and says after driving all of them, he would put his money on the Ford GT over the Viper.
Q: cost of repairing my dodge viper, ned some estimates?
hi, i have a 2005 dodge viper black mamba edition.... undercarrige of whole driver side door , with muffler, steering wheel seat is gone... front bumper is cracked, spline, and interior of driver side...plus smaller pieces like lights, and stuff... the passenger, and rear of car is completely intact, and the engine and motor is fine...oh, and the chasis is bent...can anyone give me a rough esimate...btw if u want to know, i hit a pole directly on the driver side.
A: from what you just described about 8-10 grand to get it repaired back and painted ,that must have been a real hard pole, but parts for those cars are expensive,at the very least you,ll get by with it around 10 k probably,id let the insurance deal with this one, good luck.
Q: Restoration with dodge viper (LOOK)?
I found a 2005 dodge viper for 10,000! but it was in a accident. The back end is torn off (only the trunk/back). The front is perfect and the engine is still in there. It still runs but can you fix the back and maybe the trans if needed? How much will this cost me and how much time will it take?
easy points just awnser PLEASE i really need to know
A: it would be a tremendous job if it even can be repaired. due to the price, i'd say it can't. 10K sounds like what the drive train is worth. the easiest way to figure it out is to find out what a 2005 viper with the same miles is worth and subtract 10 G's. one more thing. if it was possible to repair it and sell it for a profit, it would have been snapped up quick. i own a body shop and have been fixing wrecks for 25 yrs.
Q: California Lemon Law Return with Dodge?
I have a Dodge Viper 2005 and it was in the shop for 40+ days during the first 12 months of owning the vehicle. I wrote Dodge giving them VIN and service records stating I wanted my money back and they sent me an email stating 'we will continue to repair your vehicle'
Has anyone ever returned a car to Dodge under the lemon law of California and what is my best approach?
Proof that I am not lying:
http://www.brentdavidenterprises.com/bdp/viper/
The vehicle was purchased new. The lemon law statues for the state of california can be viewed here:
http://www.lemonlawamerica.com/state_laws/california.htm
I qualify under section ยง 1793.22. b. 3.
I qualify because my vehicle has been in the shop for over 40 days and was so during the first 18 months or 18,000 miles (the car is only 14 months old and only has 12,000 miles, and I filed the claim at 11,000 miles two months ago)
Has anyone gone through the Lemon Law process? Has anyone done it with Daimler-Chrysler?
A: Chrysler isn't going to help you - drop me a line and I'll refer you to a lemon law attorney in CA - (no benefit for me, just helping people out)

Q: Which car looks better?
The first one: http://images.consumerguide.com/autoreview/400x266/2005-Dodge-Viper-05103411990001.JPG
or the second one:
http://photos1.blogger.com/img/85/2978/640/Yellow%20lotus%20elise.jpg
A: I feel the second one looks exceptionally classy along with the fact I'm sure the engine under the hood can haul quite a bit as well. The Dodge Viper is also a very nice car as well and is quite fast also. I personally prefer the complete makeup of the exterior of the second car as well. I do however like the fact that the Viper is a convertable because i myself much prefer the look of a convertable than a hardtop. Overall I think I would have to choose the second car over the Viper.
Q: thinking of buying a supercar..any guess's on if it will be a collectors????
i am thinking of buying a 2006 ford gt..i thought about ferrari, but later on i will get that....i like the gt's look, and it has more power than my 2005 dodge viper. but i am wondering if in 10 or 20 years if it will be a collectors car and actually go up in value. i havent seen many articles on it, but since its a super car, and only 4500 will be built...i am hoping it will turn maybe a 100k profit in 15 to 20 years....any opinions???? (by the way, i own the viper, and have driven the ford gt numerous times, only stock car i have ever seen that makes the viper look and feel like a slow hybrid).
A: i'll definitely go for the GT over the Viper. However, i REALLY REALLY doubt that you'll be able to make any profit from it in your or your childrens/grandchildrens' lifetimes. They simple make way too many of those ... it's just expensive.
Q: Are Dodge Vipers getting Smaller?
Comparing the 2005-06 SRT10 to 2008.. They changed something body wise and I cant figure it out but Im sure its the lenght of the car
A: In actuallity its not the length of the car getting smaller but longer. The newer models are longer to give customers the much needed extra trunk space. The most noticebale feature of the new models though is the width. As you can see Dodge gave it a wider wheelbase to increase stability and performance. Something needed to help the driver handle the amazing 600 horsepower and 560 lbs of torque that the revised 8.4L V10 now dishes out. With a larger wheelbase it gives more room for the engine and allows for the hood to go from being a flat smooth bubble to a more aerodynamic depression. All in all its still one bad@ss vehicle and a real thrill to drive : )
