A: the cars on the nascar races aren't set up for short track driving they have higher gear ratios and wouldn't do very good against a viper,the viper would win in a race from 0-60 anytime,but on a long track where they could get wound out,the nascar would smoke the viper,viper wasn't set up to run for a long period of time on a long track like a nascar car is.good luck.

A: It will do more than twice the posted speed limit anywhere here in the US....lol. I believe that Car and Driver tested the 08 Viper to 190+ but didnt get it to the 200mph mark. Now the fun part is getting the Viper to Hennesee Motorsports and making it into the Venom models... insane speed anyone? lol

A: The Viper and Z06 are close enough to depend on the driver and track. Both are mid 3's 0-60. The Mustang is a little slower because its so heavy.

A: Ill continue to search for info, but Ive heard many rumours about this car since I work at a Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge car dealership. All i know for now is that the ZB refers to the coupe version and not the convertible
EDIT: I have asked a mechanic that works at the dealership where I work (hes been there for 30 something years) and he said that it was just a trim level as they do not badge it SRT-10 anymore. He suggested it might be the initials of a designer, or someone highly placed in the Dodge hierchy

Q: Why hasn't Dodge put a HEMI in a Viper yet?
I was expecting this new 2008 Viper with an extra 80 HP to have a HEMI, but I guess now.
Has Dodge tweeked the SRT-10 engine to the point where adding a HEMI wouldnt work without redoing the enitre engine? Or that the SRT-10 engine creates more power on it's own than it would with a HEMI?
A: The Viper is the Viper because of the V10 engine. Dodge has other platforms where they use the hemi and that's where the hemi should stay. I have an 06 Viper Coupe and the V10 has unimaginable torque. I don't think the hemi could provide that type of torque.
Q: 2006 Viper or 2008 Challenger SRT8 Limited Version?
I am a dodge fan and have finally saved about $53000 to get an extra vehicle to use as a weekend car and to cruise around whenever I'm bored. I like both cars very much and they both have an advantage. The Viper is very rare to see on the streets and it turns heads wherever you go the only thing is the V10 that isn't too good on gas. The 2008 Challenger SRT is a limited production of only 6400 made and has a rear seat but its not as sharp as the Viper. The Viper I wanna get is an orange copper color while the Challenger is a bright orange with stripes. I know the decision is up to me but I just wanna know what you people would say to this.
A: The Viper is faster in every possible way. Neither of those cars get good gas mileage (actually about the same) and since its your weekend toy it wont matter since it wont be driven very many miles. The 08 Challengers were sold out before they were even built so unless you bought it 2 years ago you wont get one.

Excepting the GT40, all of the above were reviewed in Road & Track, February 2008. The venue for this hypothetical contest is Infineon Raceway, Sears Point, CA, USA, involving forty laps of the American Motorcycle Association-spec seven-mile loop--the venue is used by CART, NASCAR, NHRA, IHRA, DHRA, &c., and as I understand things was recently added by Indy Racing League. If FIA chose this venue for a Formula One event, their preferred course would probably be the same one used by AMA for Superbike races.
Order and intervals of finish, given equal drivers, would be appreciated.
A: Well, the first thing to look at is the track... Infineon is a wonderful flowing track that places cars almost in constant transition, putting a premium on handling. This is one of my favorite tracks as a driver, and certainly one of the more challenging and more technical.
The Ford GT would seem to be well suited for this track... but I would have to go back to personal experience at having seen two Ford GTs at events at this track. Both suffered failures under less than stressful driving that required them leaving via a flatbed. As finishing is a requirment to winning, The Ford GT scores an impressive result on paper, but in the end, I don't think it's a genuine track car as was the original GT40. Mark it down for last place.
The Viper has made great strides in recent years as a track car. With the issues of the inadequate brakes of the earlier cars now firmly addressed, and small improvements all around, it's a really great car, and one that should hold up (where some of the earlier cars might of been prone to ending the same as the GT). However, the nature of the track does not play to the Viper's strong points, and the quickest part of the track (the esses) will work against it as the weakest handling car of the group. Mark it down for third (could easily get a better result at a different track with more straights and low speed corners).
Which brings us to the Corvette and the Ferrari. Both cars have alot of strengths... but ultimately it would come down to the power advantage of the Corvette against the chasis and braking advantage of the Ferrari. The ZR1 looks like it will be pretty amazing, but it would be a feat if it comes close to the Ferrari in terms of chasis balance, poise, and rigidity.
This would give the Ferrari an advantage in a couple key spots on the track, which should compensate for the couple spots where the ZR1 could really take advantage of it's power. Giving a second place to the Corvette, and the winning spot to the Ferrari.
The longer the race, the more the advantage would go to the Ferrari, given the better balance and less power and weight, the Ferrari should also do better on brake and tire wear where the others would eventually lose time to both of these.

I was hit by an illegal alien who did not have insurance or a drivers license. my insurance company is refusing to pay for the damages to my car. they told me that they are not going to pay for someone who is not supposed to be driving on the roads of the united states. they also told me that they cannot sue or recoupe money from this illegal alien. i am stuck with paying, $7400 to repair my car. this illegal alien and my insurance company are getting off scott free. i have been driving for twenty seven years and have never been involved in an accident; this is hell. my insurance company has pulled out all the legal guidlines to keep from paying for the repairs. i went to file a suit against this illegal and was told that he was returned to mexico. i was told to sue the owner of the car. the owner of the car has vanished. my 2008 dodge viper is sitting at the body shop waiting to get fixed. the shop has refused to start fixing the car until they get $4500 up front. i am stuck.
A: Your insurance company (whoever they are and you should have told us so we don't use them) SUCKS! You have an uninsured motorist clause in your policy which you pay for and you are entitled to reimbursement unless it CLEARLY states that the uninsured motorist cannot be an illegal. If there is no such statement then I would go after them in court. Bastards.
